Come and see me!

I will be speaking/cooking live at the following events over the coming weeks:

I'll be speaking at the Food and Drink Innovation Network's conference on FreeFrom Allergy & Intolerance alongside the excellent Michelle Berriedale-Johnson, Lucinda Bruce Gardyne and Lesley Cutts

This time I will be cooking live alongside top Dorset chefs and the ever inspiring Sophie Grigson in my home town at the Wimborne Food Festival. Do come along if you can as most events are free. The Wimborne Food Festival is a wonderful celebration of all the excellent produce and producers in Dorset.

I will be travelling to Birmingham for the first time to speak at the Bite 'n' Write Food Bloggers Conference. I'm already getting excited about seeing so many foodie bloggers there!

(Cooking live at the Allergy and Gluten Free Show at Kensington Olympia earlier this year)

If you would like me to speak or cook live at a future event, please email me at:

Welcome to Charlotte's Kitchen

I think it's only fair that I begin with a confession. As some of you know, I have been writing Free From Kitchen, a food blog for HELLO! for some time now. However, I have to say, I possess the least technological skills out of everyone I know (apart from you, Dad!). So please bear with me whilst I attempt to build a blog which works well and looks good.

What I can vouch for, I hope, is the content. Although I have been fortunate to have the good people at HELLO! Magazine to make everything work, I write all the content and take all the photos myself. I'm just getting to grips with it on my own for the first time. To aid me, I will soon be the proud owner of a shiny new Canon SLR digital camera and a snazzy new laptop, which I hope will make the documentation process more straightforward.  I don't know if any other bloggers can empathise, but there have been many occasions, generally in the small hours, when I have been so frustrated by my laptop crashing, I have seriously considered throwing it out of the window. Or is that just me?!

Confession time over. Phew. Some of you may know me from one or more of my areas of work in the food industry. I have a number of different projects on the go (you can read more in my bio) so I decided to create this blog to bring my work together in one place.

The next few months are going to be incredibly exciting for me, so I hope to share news of this with you, as well as an assortment of recipes and food news. I will also be going on tour over the next few months, visiting a sensational selection of artisan food producers all over the UK to find out what they do.

I am an adventurous cook and gourmand. I particularly like great food which has been well produced.  I champion great British food producers/growers/farmers. I specialise in cooking "free from" recipes which I post on my Free From Kitchen blog. Most of all, I love simple, delicious, unpretentious food. The sort of thing you want to cook every day. One of my greatest passions is encouraging younger people to cook.

I also hope you might like to participate. I am looking for recipe testers and product testers for new products in the pipeline at Go Free Foods. I hope you will enjoy reading this blog, and I look forward to sharing the journey with you.
